Primal Citizenship
When we look at the brain science, we have more in common than we think. We have the foundation upon which to build more empathic relationships.
Primal Citizenship
Diverse groups generally create better solutions than homogenous groups. Yet, we are actively forming homogenous “tribes” that seek to take away the voices of other “tribes”. We are taking up our roles as citizens in a regressive, primal way. Cancel culture, political violence, and belief in misinformation, for example, are manifestations of this. No society can thrive when meaningful discourse cannot happen and when large portions of the population are ignored or vilified. To solve the urgent problems we face, we must evolve beyond Primal Citizenship to a more Empathic Citizenship.
The Power of Getting to Know You
Studies have shown that even the most bitter enemies can form lasting empathic relationships when they are able to get to know each other on a human level.

Our highly connected, media driven world is activating the primal drivers of our behavior in ways that are contributing to an increasingly active and violent tribalism that is limiting society’s ability to solve problems that really need solving.
A recent Pew Research Poll showed that 73% of Republicans perceive Democrats as being immoral while 62% of Democrats perceive the same among Republicans. It is easy to vilify people you don’t know. We are wired that way.
Studies have shown, however, that even the most bitter enemies can form lasting empathic relationships when they are able to get to know each other on a human level. Beyond Primal’s programs foster these types of empathic connections.
